The day after the earthquake it was a cleaning up day. There was heaps of liquefaction so Dad had to get a digger to help clean the mess. The day after the big clean up was my 7th birthday. I got a cuckoo clock that was pink and had butterflies on it. Later in the day Tanner, Mum and I went to Hanmer so we could get some sleep, I had an awesome birthday.
In Hanmer I did lots of fun things, my top 3 things were going to the pools and Dad and I went on the new hydro slide. We went on the funny 4 wheel bikes and Pukka (my granddad) got really tired. Most of all we had a great afternoon at the animal park.
We all came back to Christchurch on Saturday so we could go straight to Molly’s birthday party. It was great fun.

Thanks Piper for this interesting story. I remember taking Jack on those bikes for his 5th birthday. It was about 30 degrees and we got extremely hot and sweaty.
