Sweets and Streets in Dunedin

Hi Ms Ashby and Room 17
We really enjoyed seeing the different things on the blog.  We made our own treasure hunt with a plan of Nana's two storied house.  Today we went to the awesome Cadbury chocolate factory (we haven't ever been there before).  It smelt of Orange as they were making Jaffas.  We loved it and saw white buttons and had heaps of chocolate because the lady asked us questions and we won them!  Annie didn't like going into the purple tower and the noise from the chocolate fountain - she screamed and no-one could hear the lady!!!
We went up to Baldwin St - the steepest in the world but we were lazy and didn't walk up!!!
Mum didn't bring all the bits of the camera so I can't put photos on.  Tomorrow we are going to the museum and seeing something called Face to Face where you can change your face to make you look all different - even heaps older!
We are coming back on Sunday and actually looking forward to getting home to tidy the house.  Dad has been staying at Tom Watson's this week and they even came to our house and helped to clean up my room! (Thanks Tom!!)
Can't wait to see everyone in Room 17 again soon

Thanks for the letter Thomas. Here's a link to a newspaper article with a video clip of the Jaffa Run on Baldwin Street.

  1. Sounds like you had a great time at the Cadbury Factory Tom! Yum!! We can't get Jaffas here in London, will have to get Gran to send some over.

  2. Hi Thomas. We have been to the Cadbury Factory before and we ate lots of chocolate too. We walked up Baldwin Street and we saw some boys at the top and they rolled Jaffas down the street - the only problem is you can't eat the jaffas on the street so I think it was a waste of yummy lollies. See you soon from Maddie.

  3. Hi Maddie - we too have been to Arrowtown where you are - it is so cool there and have you been gold panning? The Jaffas must go so fast down the steep Baldwin St!!! We are looking forward to coming home now. See you soon also Thomas
