Hundreds Board Games

Guess the Mystery Number
One person has to be the person who decides what the mystery number is - we'll call this person the teacher.
  • the guessers need to ask questions that have yes or no answers like is it an even number?
  • the teacher says "yes" or "no" then covers up the numbers that it can't be.
  • the guessers then ask another question like is it bigger than 50?
Finally there will be only one number left and it should be the mystery number.
*When we played this game at home when the boys were little we always found it was a good idea for the teacher to write the mystery number on a piece of paper ( or told a helper ).
Remember, keep the questions bigat the beginning so you knock out lots of numbers with each question.

Create a Picture
For  this game you need to have two hundreds boards.
  • one one board create a pattern or picture by colouring some squares

  • figure out some problems that have the coloured squares as answers like colour the number that has 6 tens and 8 ones red the other player has to figure out that she needs to colour 68 red (for lips)
  • when the guesser thinks she knows what the picture is of, she can have a guess.
Bingo
From our Oldie but a Goldie treasure trove, there come all the versions of Bingo or Housie.
For this game
  • one player (who is the caller) needs a hundred board, this player  also has a container with a chopped up hundreds board in it.
  • other players need to get a piece of paper and write some numbers on it. These numbers can be any number between 0 and 101. You can have as many numbers as you like but about 20 is probably best.
  • the caller pulls a number from the container and calls it out ( she can be as tricky as she likes eg 25 (not very tricky) or 10+10+5 (trickier) or 5x5 (trickiest).
  • the players work out the answer (25) and cross out that number if they have it
  • the first player  to cross out all his numbers calls out "Bingo" or "Housie" and is the winner.
