Peace Cranes

We have had a day based around the story of Sadako Sasaki. We read the story and discussed it. We felt excited because we knew that after lunch Miwa, Tane's mum, was coming in to teach us how to make paper cranes. We watched a Youtube video about how to make them. For writing we wrote about the three reasons we were making paper cranes.
1. Yuya and Tane are really excited about origami and making us want to do it too.
2. We have so many children away that it is a good time to do something different, peaceful and quiet.
3. We were inspired by the story of Sadako.

We worked hard after lunch and managed to make two cranes each. We were lucky to have Miwa here to help us. Everyone found it hard to choose which crane to leave at school. Miwa has taken them home to thread together. Thanks Miwa!
